The event is Round 10 of the SCCA/MICHELIN PRO RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP
and will be the final event of this series.

On Friday night a Divisional Co-efficient 2 event, the MEAD RALLY will run
concurrently with the National; on Saturday a Co-efficient 2 Divisional, the
SEVEN ISLANDS RALLY, will accompany the National; both will count towards the
1997 Divisional Championship.

The events will be conducted following the National PRO Rally Rules, as amended
by these Supplementary Regulations.

ROUTE
The route is contained in an area 80 miles to the north, and 50 miles to the west, of
Rumford, Maine. The event will pass through two states, even during a special stage!
Maps will be included in the front of the route book; the first 10 miles of either day's
first transit may be used as a pre-event odometer check.

The National route is approximately 315 miles long, with 108 miles of special stages (8).
Both Friday and Saturday's Divisionals will contain about 120 miles of transits with 65
and 42 miles of special stages respectively. The route uses many of the roads twice,
mostly in opposite directions. Most of the stages are 1-1/2 lane, well groomed ex-logging
roads. Some will be being used as access for current logging operations. The basic
quality of the roads, considering both the roughness and tightness, is excellent. But
because of the changeable weather conditions the exact road surface will be unknown until
the last minute, and even then will vary with the passage of cars. Up to date information
will be available before the start.

SERVICE
Service will be in specified areas. Information in the service route book will contain
approximate time available, what services are available and any other pertinent information.

DIVISIONALS
Competitors in the co-efficient 2 rallies will start at the end of the National event.

The MEAD Divisional will consist of the entire Friday night route; service areas will start with
F-1 and special stages will be numbers 1-4.

The SEVEN ISLANDS Divisional will consist of the entire Saturday route; service areas will
start with number S-1 and special stages will be numbers 5-8.

A seminar for FIRST TIME divisional competitors will be held at 3 PM on Friday. Those
unable to attend must contact the chairman beforehand. In general those unfamiliar with
the timing system could attend this seminar.

PERKS
We are continuing the "Clam Bake" on Thursday night.
Each National crew will receive a RALLY LICENSE PLATE.

TIME ASSESSMENTS
Lateness at ATC's, MTC's, etc. will be penalized by 0.20 minutes (see NPRR 12.9.C).

MISC
To avoid penalty, all National cars must be positioned in PARC EXPOSE between 3:00 and
3:30PM Friday. This Parc will be located in downtown Rumford. An exact map will be
available at registration.

The NOTICE BOARD will be posted in the registration room of the Madison Hotel.

TRAILERS: Do NOT park them on the asphalt at the Madison! We need the space.

The STARTING ORDER will be determined on the basis of a seeded draw held on Nov. 28.
An OVERALL RESEED will take place before the restart Saturday.

The REGROUPING CONTROLS will be handled as follows: You must arrive ON TIME; you will be
given your in time and assigned an ideal out time. Your time cards will be kept by the
control marshal while you go to service (scoring will be done at this time). A couple of
minutes before your out time, or at your out time, you may approach the control. At this
time you will be given your time cards and sent on your way. We plan on having scores here.

The MAXIMUM PERMITTED LATENESS will revert to zero at the end of Friday night.

All personnel connected with the rally MUST sign the WAIVER at Registration.

All INCIDENTS/ACCIDENTS must be reported to the SCCA SERIES SAFETY STEWARD on the
appropriate forms; forms will be available in the routebook.

ARROWS will supplement the route book, one being located AT (20 feet before) all major
intersections noted in the routebook. Downward facing arrows indicate cautions.

The un-posted SPEED LIMIT on gravel roads is 45 mph.

The Special Stage timing will be in HUNDREDTHS.

Those wishing EXTRA BUFFET tickets should buy them during Registration. Two free with National entry.
