SET YOUR CLOCKS TO AUGUST 1 FOR THE 2003 MAINE FOREST RALLY

Rumford, MAINE -- After nine years of being run on the last weekend in July, the 2003 Maine Forest Rally will take place on the first weekend of August (1st and 2nd). "Because the Oregon Trail event has moved to a July 12-13 date, we have agreed to move back one week in order to provide a three week gap in the schedule," reports rally organizer John Buffum.

The Maine Forest Rally has been held every year - sometimes winter and summer - since 1991 in Rumford, Maine. It was awarded the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) ProRally of the year title in 1992 and again in 2001. For the past four years it has had the highest number of entries in the ProRally Championship, with the 2001 event setting an all-time record of 121 starting cars.

2003 is the thirty-first year of the SCCA sanctioned ProRally series, consisting of nine events in eight different states. For more information about the SCCA or the ProRally series go to: http://www.scca.org
