MotorsportVortex, the site for racing enthusiasts

Downers Grove, Illinois -- Motorsportvortex.com is proud to announce a new and exciting sponsorship agreement with the RallyVW SCCA ProRally team. Based in Marysville, Ohio, RallyVW competes in the SCCA ProRally Production class.

RallyVW's 2000 Volkswagen Golf TDI racecar will debut the MotorsportVortex Livery during the upcoming Cherokee Trails International Pro Rally March 15th and 16th.

As a direct result of this partnership, MotorsportVortex will be following RallyVW throughout the 2002 Rally season and reporting news, driver's perspectives and galleries. MotorsportVortex will also be providing Video clips and detailed features on team, car and events.

"Our relationship with MotorsportVortex is very exciting. It will offer us a great vehicle to promote our rally efforts " said Hamilton. "With the sport growing like wild fire in the U.S. we think this partnership will only help the sport and our team grow".

"Being a motorsports news site reporting on larger events like WRC, this gives us a chance to bring excitement to smaller local U.S. rally events. A lot of our readers never even knew there was rally in the USA. We think this will be a good way to promote the ProRally series and great teams like RallyVW to an audience that may never have heard about them without our site" said Chuck Macak Senior Editor at Motorsportvortex.

The newest member of the Vortex Media Group, MotorsportVortex.com is bred out of the same minds that created the wildly successful VWvortex.com and AudiWorld.com. With over one million individual readers per month, VWvortex and AudiWorld are the premier websites for coverage of Volkswagen and its family of brands. As part of the Vortex Media Group websites, MotorsportVortex has a unique and loyal base of readers from which to draw upon.

RallyVW finished the 2001 series with 2nd place for the season in Group2, competing in a 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit. Team owner Jon Hamilton then retired the twenty-year-old car, and made the move to the new Golf. The opening of the 2002 SCCA ProRally season saw the RallyVW TDI Golf taking 1st place in Production Class at the Snow-Drift ProRally, in Houghton, Michigan. The team hopes for similar results in Chattanooga.

RallyVW is also receiving new sponsorship for the 2002 season. McWherter Petroleum is supplying them with an environmentally friendly Soylect Biodiesel blend, made from domestically grown soy beans that reduce both harmful emissions and dependency on foreign oil.
