World's First New Beetle Rally Car Competing Again In Pennsylvania

Sand Springs, Oklahoma -- RealAutoSport, LLC and VirtualTargetRacing announced today that the two organizations will combine forces to return the world's first Volkswagen New Beetle Rally Car to the Sports Car Club of America sanctioned Susquehannock Trail ProRally (STPR) in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania on 1 June 2002. It will be the first ProRally event of the year for the 2001 Production Class ClubRally National Champion, M. E. "Mad Mike" Halley, and will represent Sean Figgins' first time ever codriving in something other than a truck.

As Halley's 15th career codriver, Figgins is looking forward to the fierce competition that has become a trademark of the resurgent ProRally Production Class. The Coudersport, Pennsylvania resident said, "To date I've only competed in pickups prepared to the "rallytruck" specification and, honestly, they cannot maintain the pace of a contemporary Production Class rally car. I'm looking forward to new sensations in both speed and comfort vying for a ProRally class win on those challenging Pennsylvania State Forest roads."

For Halley's part, adding a relative newcomer to a list of codrivers that has included some of the most respected names in ProRally is no cause for concern. Halley said, "I've been around Sean since before his first stage rally. He completed his first ClubRally in the RealAutoSport, LLC Son of RallyeTruck and has done excellent work in different machines and with different drivers since then. I am comfortable that our STPR collaboration will gel quickly and we'll be a force to be reckoned with for the class win right from the start of that first stage.

The SCCA ProRally Championship is the nation’s only performance rally series with uniquely varied venues coast-to-coast. Teams compete flat-out for hundreds of miles over closed-to-the-public forestry roads separated into a series of special stages. A codriver warns the driver of jumps, dangerous turns, exposures and other obstacles thanks to the official route book and a hundredth reading odometer. All events are televised on Speed (http://www.speedtv.com/).

The RealAutoSport, LLC Rallye Team is sponsored by Mary Jane Halley, CPA, KC HiLiTES HID Racing Lamps (www.kchilites.com), Competition Graphics (www.competitiongraphics.com) and Flower City Printing (www.flowercityprinting.com). Information on performance rallying is available from the SCCA webpage (www.scca.org) while the entire RealAutoSport, LLC story is available in pictures and other media at the team's home page (www.realautosport.com) which is expertly maintained by webmaster Sean Figgins.
