World's First New Beetle Rally Car Looking For Two-In-A-Row

Sand Springs, Oaklahoma -- The reformulated RealAutoSport, LLC Rallye Team will be running the final round of the Sports Car Club of America's premiere performance rally series with but one goal - add a Lake Superior ProRally class title to the dominating win recorded at the August running of the Ojibwe Forests ProRally in Minnesota. Joining 2001 ClubRally National Champion, M. E. "Mad Mike" Halley, in the StudBug as it returns to Michigan's upper peninsula will be former Ontario (Canada) Regional Driving Champion Bill Montgomery, CPA from Atlanta, Georgia.

Halley tackles his fourth stage rally event of the year with a like number of different codrivers but is really looking forward to challenging two previous 2002 "navvies." Looking on this event as a teammate shakedown for next season, Halley said, "The codrivers who helped me secure the ClubRally National title and my first-ever ProRally class win, John Dillon and Dave Weiman respectively, are set to compete in the LSPR Production Class! Bill's first ride in the car will be a true test by fire competing against two top teams who know more about me than he does. If we win this one I bet we’ll know who the 2003 RealAutoSport codriver is!" A rally competitor since 1972, Halley is the father of two and works for Helmerich & Payne, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Montgomery said, "I met Mike at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood earlier this year but had no idea we might rally together until my son Greg sent him a note suggesting we might make a good team. I guess they agree! Since Greg is flying in to serve as Crew Chief, I have a really good feeling about LSPR." An avid autosport fan, Montgomery is also a private pilot, father of five and the Vice President, Internal Audit for Beazer Homes USA, Inc.

The StudBug’s Crew Chief for the final 2002 ProRally, Greg Montgomery, is a Senior Paramedic from California and the driver of the HiMark Racing Toyota Celica All-Trac. The younger Montgomery may have some tips for Halley since he has already had his dad along as codriver - they ran together at the Nevada-based Ramada Express Hotel and Casino International Rally in December 2001.

The SCCA ProRally Championship is the nation’s only performance rally series with uniquely varied venues coast-to-coast. Teams compete flat-out for hundreds of miles over closed-to-the-public forestry roads separated into a series of special stages. A codriver warns the driver of jumps, dangerous turns, exposures and other obstacles thanks to computer generated "stage notes" and a hundredth reading odometer. All events are televised on the Speed Channel (http://www.speedtv.com/). The RealAutoSport, LLC Rallye Team is sponsored by Mary Jane Halley; CPA, Cameron Collision and Restoration in Mannford, Oklahoma; KC HiLiTES HID Racing Lamps (www.kchilites.com); Competition Graphics (www.competitiongraphics.com); Drummond Motorsport Shocks (www.dmshocks.com), Dannys Auto and Tire in Mannford, Oklahoma and many individual contributors thanks to www.newbeetle.org. Information on performance rallying is available from the SCCA webpage (www.scca.org), while the entire RealAutoSport, LLC story is available in pictures and other media at the team's home page (www.realautosport.com).
