Widget Renews Partnership for Ramada Express Int'l Rally
Prescott Rally Winners Team Up Again

Thousand Oaks, California -- Blake Yoon, Hancock Park, CA and John Dillon, Thousand Oaks, CA, announced today that they'll race together again at the Ramada Express International Rally Dec 8-10, 2005. The rally, headquartered in Laughlin, NV, is internationally known for its awesome roads in Arizona's Grand Canyon on the lands of the Hualapai Indian Nation. Yoon, a rookie driver, and Dillon, Widget codriver, won their first race together, the Prescott Rally of October 7-8, with the help of driving coach Leon Styles and crew chief John Turner.

"I've been fortunate to codrive at every Ramada Express Rally so far," noted Dillon. "Last year Wolfgang [Hoeck] and I finished second overall in a Group N car. Maybe this time Blake and I will improve that position by one!"

"This is the eighth running of the rally, but my first time on the stages," Yoon observed. "Thank goodness we can do reconnaisance on these roads. I'm really looking forward to this event, even though the schedule is pretty challenging. I'm counting on Leon and John to continue helping me go faster while keeping the car on the road."

Dillon provided Yoon with on-board video captured from the 2004 Ramada Express event. "Chad DiMarco always stressed to us that footage from in-car cameras is fun to watch, but should never be treated as a serious training tool. Still, it's entertaining to see the roads at speed, even if it's from the narrow perspective of a fixed lens. The video at least broadly hints at the character of the stages. When we do recce, Blake will have a much better idea of what to expect."

Yoon is currently leading the California Rally Series championship for Open 4WD cars. With 600 points still on the line at Ramada Express, he'll have to fight hard to earn the championship. "I'm driving to win," he said, "and I know John is hungry for a Laughlin victory too. It's not gonna be easy, but we'll do our best to come out on top."

About the Sport
Rallying is the ultimate team motorsport where street-licensed cars are raced at high speed on dirt trails with two people in the car, a driver behind the wheel and a codriver describing every bend in the road. Competitors are not allowed to pre-run the roads so they are racing "blind," navigating from a route book provided just hours prior to the event. Cars can easily reach speeds above 100 MPH as they snake between trees and along the edges of cliffs in this sport of strength and stamina.
